MAGNETOCOSMICS is a particle tracing code for the Earth's magnetosphere based on Geant4 . It allows to compute the trajectory of charged particles in advanced geomagnetic field models (IGRF, Tsyagnenko )

The main applications of the code are :

• The computation of asymptotic directions of incidence
• The computation of cut-off rigidity in function of position, direction, and time
• The visualisation of particle trajectories and magnetic field lines.

The MAGNETOCOSMICS code has been developed in the frame of the SEPTIMESS project sponsored by ESA/ESTEC (contract 16339/02/NL/FM/nv).

Latest news

Version 2.0 released on September 19th 2006

• The code has been slightly modified to be compliant with Geant4.8.1. Inputs and outputs of the code are the same than for the first version.
